Photo Restoration Of Miss Mary Kimble
This portrait of Miss Mary Kimble was taken in 1902. Miss Mary Kimbel was an Assistant Principal at Houston, St. Louis, New York.
The photo to be restored has lots of noise/grain in it and to fix it we must use all our knowledge and then some. The main software we will use is photoshop, and the first order of business is to smooth the photo out as much as possible.
As you can see in the below photo, we have smoothed the photo and added detail back. The photo restoration process of this photo started a few months back when we first discovered this photo on the New York Public Library website.
We love a challenge here at photo restoration rescue
Once the photo was restored, we decided to colourise Miss Mary Kimble, our colourisation techniques are done by hand using layers in Photoshop. During the colourising stage, we added more contrast to the final overall look of the photo.
